Calverley Victoria are looking forward to their 4th season in the Bradford Sunday Alliance Premier Division, in 2003/4.

The club are looking for new players, with preseason training begining in late June 2003. Please contact Mark Greaves on 07946 408 423 for more details, or email The club.

Calverley Victoria won the Bradford Sunday Alliance Division 1A title in 1997-98, were guided to their successes by player/manager Andy Armitage. The former Leeds United apprentice and Guiseley defender proved to be a big hit in the managerial role.

They were 2B champions in 1992-1993 after spending several seasons in that division before player/manager Armitage guided them to promotion into 1A.

The club always knew it would be hard in the top flight and they survived despite the fact that Armitage had to quit midway through the season due to work commitments, Victoria’s rise came after the collapse of Thornhill, the first prominent Calverley side in the Alliance.

The present Calverley Victoria club took their early steps as Calverley New Inn under the managership of Dave Pearson.

The team developed a friendly rivalry with Eccleshill United and were often runners-up to the young United team as they worked their way through the lower divisions.
